Component 1


The goal of the Component 1 is to enable successful integration of students, parents and teachers from different ethnic communities through capacity building programs and integrated education activities as well as improving infrastructural and technical conditions in the vocational secondary schools in order to improve the teaching quality.

Through the Nansen model for integrated education, the lack of mutual activities between the students is addressed by implementing joint extracurricular activities between students from various ethnic backgrounds that enable successful integration and socialization. These activities reduce the cultural and language barriers as well as the stereotypes and prejudices linked to their ethnic, religious and cultural background.

A significant component of the model is developing teachers’ competences in integrated education, inclusion and intercultural competence through structured set of activities including: workshops, trainings, developing local schools policies and practices that increase the level of integration between the target groups from different ethnic communities and prevent school segregations.

The program for cooperation with parents enables successful integration and trust building between the parents from various ethnic communities. The implementation of programs for cooperation with parents is carried out through educative and creative workshops, courses and consultations in order to strengthen the cooperation relations between the parents from and to increase the life skills of the parents and creating habits for their continuous self-education.
